
Sherry “Strut” Strothers is a 30-year veteran of the United States Navy and a dedicated resident of North Las Vegas. She’s running for North Las Vegas City Council, Ward 1, because she believes that all politics are local and that strong, compassionate leadership can shape the future families will inherit.
During her Navy career, Sherry rose to the rank of senior Warrant Officer, serving as a Human Resource Officer. She supported operational planning, managed multimillion-dollar projects, oversaw classified communications, and coordinated day-to-day operations for large teams. Her work gave her invaluable experience in resource management, problem-solving, and working with diverse groups of people.
After retiring from military service, Sherry became a licensed Realtor and active community member in North Las Vegas, drawn by the city’s strong connection to veterans and military families. She holds an Associate of Arts in Business Management, a Bachelor of Science in Technology Management, and a Master of Business Administration in Information Systems and Technology Management — educational achievements that equip her to navigate complex city budgets, infrastructure planning, and modernization efforts.
As a single mother, veteran, and now grandmother, Sherry knows firsthand the challenges facing working families. She’s committed to advocating for smart growth, affordable housing, better transportation, accessible child care, and a strong future for veterans and military families in North Las Vegas. Above all, Sherry believes leadership means bringing everyone’s voice to the table to build a city that works for all.
